Somewhere over the Rainbow
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
I used to dream of that far away place,
Way up high, that I chased and chased,
When would I find it, and where would it be,
And when I was there, would I actually see
The place that I envisioned and dared to dream,
Since over the rainbow is so hard to glean.
Beautifully flawed with ambiguity,
Which allows so many people to continue to dream,
For me? It took all of my thirty-one years,
To move past a dream and see it all clear,
But it wasn’t high above or a far away place,
It was right next to me, despite my chase,
It was silly to be chasing a physical place,
As it turned out to be an emotional state
It was laughing, crying, it everything between,
It was every moment with you, mom and me,
Skys are not always blue, but we always get through
It’s warmth, it’s love, it was honestly you
It wasn’t somewhere, it was a someone
You were the reason that my dream did come
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
